Jananne Al-Ani
Jananne Al-Ani (born 1966 in Kirkuk, Iraq) is an artist, born to an Iraqi father and Irish mother.[1] She came to Britain in 1980 and attended the Byam Shaw School of Art and received a Fine Art Diploma in 1986, then she went on to the University of Westminster and was awarded a BA in Arabic in 1991, after which she attended the Royal College of Art and holds a Photography MA in 1995. Al-Ani has been exhibiting since 1987 and initially began working as a painter but then gradually moved on to new media and conceptual work.She has been awarded for her outstanding work in previous years. Her most recent public exhibition was in Casino Luxembourg - Forum d'art contemporain in Luxembourg where she presented an L'oeil-Écran Ou La Nouvelle Image in 2007. She currently resides in London.[2]
